AGFA Xcalibur 45 Thermal CTP Plate Setter

The AGFA Xcalibur 45, manufactured in 2005 by Agfa Graphics in Belgium, is a thermal Computer-to-Plate (CTP) system engineered for accurate and repeatable plate imaging. With a maximum plate size of 820 x 1160 mm, it is well suited for medium and large-format offset printing operations.

This system is based on thermal imaging technology using an 830 nm infrared thermal system combined with Grating Light Valve (GLV) technology. It supports imaging resolutions of 1200 and 2400 dpi, ensuring sharp dots, smooth gradients, and excellent plate consistency.

The Xcalibur 45 is capable of producing up to 30 plates per hour, making it suitable for production environments that require stable output without excessive complexity. Plates are loaded manually, giving operators full control over plate handling.

The system operates without an integrated plate processor and without RIP software, allowing flexibility in workflow integration depending on the existing prepress setup. Agfa PrintDrive technology ensures reliable plate exposure and consistent imaging quality across long production runs.
